The term "Green Building" has become commonplace to the point of suspicion. Is it just a marketing gimmick or truly an environmental tool? Despite some inappropriate use of the term, it does in fact represent a sincere construction concept meant to protect our environment and ensure the future sustainability of the structures and developments we create.
Water-Tech Irrigation has taken a leadership role in water conservation and Green Building as it relates to the irrigation industry. By now you have probably heard that only one percent of the earth's water is safe for human consumption and plant growth. What you probably haven't heard before is that of that 1%, the highest use of water is for irrigation purposes, world wide! We have a huge responsibility to protect this valuable resource and to be as efficient as possible in its use. In addition to the high technology components Water-Tech Irrigation uses in its standard lawn sprinkler system installations, we are assembling an arsenal of rain water harvesting, storage and distribution products. From downspout and surface run-off drainage solutions to simple rain barrels and large complex water storage systems, we can tackle most water harvesting needs. Some of the products we sell and install can hold tens of thousands of gallons of water - underground! The water distribution systems (irrigation only) we construct can be as simple as a pressurized hose for small plant hand watering to complex systems of pumps, electronic controls and holding tanks capable of providing full yard watering. Some of the products we use were designed by our own employees and are unique to our systems. REMEMBER: By using rainwater, you start with FREE water and eliminate all the plumbing code required backflow valves with their annual testing and periodic maintenance and repair requirements.

In harmony with our expertise in irrigation application and storm water management, Water-Tech Irrigation embarked on an intense two year research project into Rainwater Harvesting and re-use. Our objective was to learn about the methods and products used world wide in the harvesting of rainwater. From simple rain barrels to complex collection, retention and purification processes, we learned from experts across the country and across the oceans. We have since brought to the Midwest the most practical product line of rainwater harvesting components.
You will find a sampling of our rain barrels and rainwater harvesting products on this web page. Applications vary with the wants and needs of individuals, so to say there is one best solution would be in error. We carry many more products than those depicted here and would like to explore how you would like to employ rainwater harvesting in your environmental plan.
